Jodi is a big fan of football, and her favorite teams to follow are the Indianapolis Colts and the Detroit Lions. Needless to say, her fall and winter schedules are full of football watching. When she’s not following one of her favorite teams, she also enjoys spending time with her daughter. If she could travel anywhere in the world, she'd love to visit the Hawaiian Islands, where she could enjoy the local cuisine and warm tropical weather. Knowing that she loves the fine art of camping might put her in a beach tent in Waikiki, enjoying the ocean's tranquility.
She started her professional career as a teller at Chemical Bank, where she gained valuable people and project management skills that she now uses in her role as a Production Planner at BMG. In this role, she packages everything needed for the directional and executional processes that drive manufacturing floor operations at BMG. Jodie joined BMG a little over a year ago and really enjoys interacting with her coworkers. Outside of planning for work projects, she is putting together some action plans to possibly take a cruise in the near future, so she can start to discover the world from the water. She was, and is, inspired every day by her mother, which has helped shape her work ethic and dedication to the cause.

As part of our ongoing client relationships, we want to share key insights and process information every quarter to help keep production technology running smoothly. Profitable thermoforming is all about timing.
A thermoforming operator is worth their weight in gold if they truly understand how and why a perfect forming cycle works. This intrinsic information is one of the most valuable assets in a profitable thermoforming organization. This consideration is often the difference between just acceptable and incredibly outstanding!
The unique sequencing of forming functions is easiest to understand when you view the entire forming station as one coordinated, harmonious, perfectly timed cycle of events. It all starts with the sheet indexing into position; the top platen enters its cycle, followed by the bottom platen on non-third-motion machines, or by the clamp and plug platens on third-motion machines. The form function timer then controls the vacuum, air, and plug-assist portion of the cycle before the platen delay releases, the bottom platen retracts, and the top platen exits to prepare for the next index. Because these movements overlap, changes to platen speed or individual timer settings directly affect overall cycle time and part consistency.
This sequence reflects BMG’s approach to controlled thermoforming, where the forming station shapes the heated sheet using tooling and vacuum, pressure, or both, while the machine control system manages critical forming and cycle-time parameters.

How fresh is your fruit?
When consumers shop for fresh fruit and produce, they understand the importance of buying fresh, undamaged products to serve their families. Today, with situations around every corner that affect freshness and acceptable bacterial levels, manufacturers must place fresh product in appropriate retail containers to dispel any doubt about its freshness. This is especially true for berries, which are easily damaged in transit. Enter the thermoformed berry box (or punnet). These plastic containers hold fresh berries safely and securely while allowing room to move during transport. The lid is designed to nest one box on top of another. The rigid box protects the fruit from pressure damage caused by the weight of other boxes stacked on top. Side vents in the container walls deliver consistent, fresh airflow to keep the produce at peak freshness, and the pad at the bottom of the container absorbs excess moisture.
